GET THE LOOK - MAXMARA AW12 TRUNK SHOW

Here’s a look at the MaxMara AW12 Trunk Show I worked on in London this month and the breakdown of the makeup application we used inspired by their AW12 Show in Milan.

MaxMara Catwalk AW12 Show – Milan

Key Artist for MaxMara's Milan Show: Tom Pecheux for MAC

The Look: German flavour, think German Impressionist time, ‘Metropolis’ movie. Couture boyish brows, then break to make it a little wild.”

Our AOFM team was headed by Makeup Artist Kim Nagyos who designed the look for the trunk show and here’s the breakdown to recreate the look and the makeup we used (Georgio Armani Makeup courtesy of Kym):

We started first by concealing the eyes and defining the brows, making them quite strong but matching the shade to the models own hair colour.

Concealer: For the under eye I applied Rimmell Match Perfection 2-1 Concealer with my concealer brush but also used my fingertips to blend gently into the skin.

Brows: I used my HD Brows Palette to customise a shade to match the models own brow hair colour.

Eyes:
Using No4 Georgio Armani Eyeshadow in 'Burnt Sienna' and a blending brush we applied this all over the eye to the brow bone but keeping it to the natural eye shape avoiding creating a cat eye look. Blending the edges to soften.

Using No 36 Georgio Armani Eyeshadow in 'Cream' and a flat eyeshadow brush we pressed the shadow to the centre of the eyelid and then blended.

Using No 26 Georgio Armani Eyeshadow in 'Brown' and with a smaller brush we blended it into the socket area of the eye to define going slightly towards the inner corner.

Using our Georgio Armani Eyebrow Pencil in 'Brown' we applied the pencil quite close to the top lash line and smudged slightly with the applicator from the end of the pencil but ensuring the outer corner was a touch darker.

Using No 36 Georgio Armani Eyeshadow in 'Cream' again we used this to highlight the brow bone.

Using No 26 Georgio Armani Eyeshadow in 'Brown' again we applied this lightly under the lower lash line from the outer corner to the centre of the eye.

No Mascara was applied.

Primer: Georgio Armani Fluid Master Primer. This smoothed & matified the skin.

Face: For foundation I used Chanel Perfection Lumiere and applied this with a slightly damp makeup sponge pressing it into the skin.

Concealer:  For the Face I used MAC Studio Finish and applied by blending with my fingers.

Cheeks: We slightly contoured the cheeks then applied a light blush.

Lips: I blotted the lips with tissue paper to remove the excess Lucas Papaw I applied at the start to moisturise the lips and then applied a Nude/light Pink Georgio Armani lip wax.

The Trunk Show  AW12 Collection
Max Mara’s A/W 12 trunk show was a uniformed collection of military inspired coats, jumpsuits and beautiful dresses. The colour palette was army green and olive, classic camel, nautical stripes and brights with wool, leather and suede. The accessories included baker boy caps, black platform heels and long knee length boots.
