SOPWELL HOUSE SPA DAY COURTESY OF SPABREAKS.COM

Courtesy of  Spabreakes.com myself and The London Lifestylist Naomi Isted were invited along for a Spa day at Sopwell House in St. Albans recently.

Surrounded by 12 acres of garden and grounds, just a few minutes from the historic town of St Albans in Hertfordshire, the spa at Sopwell House resides in a Georgian shell with newly renovated interiors that combine Japanese elements with warm, natural materials.

Our Day
On Arrival at the spa to meet Naomi I was greeted at Reception and was given my itinerary and a guided tour for my planned day ahead. I was shown to the changing rooms with a towelling robe, slippers and an Espa Gift.

Whilst Naomi enjoyed some Yoga and Gym time, I opted to get changed into my swimwear and robe and have a little wander around to look at the facilities.

Facilities included a heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, starlit steam room, glass-fronted sauna, heated mosaic seat, spa garden and relaxation areas. For those who wish to get a little more active there is both a cardio gym and weights gym as well as a state-of-the-art studio offering a range of classes such as Zumba, Pilates, and spinning.

I made a stop at their relaxation area where I enjoyed a complementary fruit tea and some reading time seated on some very comfortable chairs. This was heaven for me as being a working mum with two small children, it was so lovely to finally switch off and look forward to my day ahead.

The weather was glorious that day so once Naomi was finished we made our way to the sun loungers on the terrace and soaked up a bit of sun before lunch and our afternoon treatments.

It was beautiful on the terrace and actually felt like we were on holiday abroad somewhere :-)

Lunch

A three course lunch was included and we were given a voucher to hand in at the restaurant. We were shown to table and was allowed to choose from a delicious selection of salads, soups, fish & meat dishes and not forgetting the choice of desserts!

We both really enjoyed our lunch and felt comfortably full after, ready for our afternoon treatments.

Treatments
After lunch we headed back to the relaxation area and waited for our therapists to show us to our treatment rooms, which have been recently refurbished.

I was greeted by the lovely Corrina who explained thoroughly what treatments I was having. For the next one and a half hours I was to enjoy a Espa Body Scrub, Espa Express Facial and a Back Neck & Shoulder Massage. The Espa products I was familiar with from holidaying abroad and using the hotels spa.

I was asked to choose from a selection of oil aromas as the oils would be used continuously throughout the treatments. I decided on the relaxing oils.

Starting with the full body scrub and after showering off the excess salts my skin felt amazing.

I then enjoyed my back, shoulder and neck massage followed by my express facial which included the choice of either a face mask or scalp massage.  I chose the scalp massage.

Corrina was amazing and I really didn't want the treatments to end!

End of the day
After the treatments I was reunited with Naomi in my dazed and relaxed state and went back to the changing rooms to get dressed.

We then finished the day enjoying our complementary Raspberry Sparkle Drink and Mini Cake on the Terrace Bar.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our day at Sopwell House and I would definitely recommend a visit. Spa Breaks have some incredible deals on at the moment including overnight stays. Check out their current offers here or give them a call on 0800 043 6600.

Thanks again to Spabreakes.com  for our day at Sopwell House. I appreciated every minute of it ;-)

Love Jo x
